Strap in for another wild ride, a third season of “YOU” is set to release this year!

Maybe you lived under a rock or separated from society in 2018, because surely you must have heard about YOU, right? I happened to live on a college campus during the peak of YOU‘s popularity (credit to Penn Badgley’s unnerving stalkerish acting skills)… that was fun. Season 2 was just as action-packed, murder centered, and (if not more) dark than season 1.

Now, we are all left to wonder… what’s going to happen in season 3? Who is Joe Goldberg’s next “You,” and how will he repress his serial killer urges? Thankfully, you will not have to wait too long to find out!

The second season left on an insane cliffhanger, but I will not spoil anything for those of you who haven’t seen the show! Like many other tv shows and movies, production was paused on the newest season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the official YOU Twitter account tweeted on November 2nd, 2020:

Fans became enamored with his psychotic yet dreamy portrayal of the obsessed Joe Goldberg pretty quickly. It makes sense they would jump back on the production train as soon as possible!

Because of the fanfare generated around the second season, including the intricate theories, production is hoping to have the new season released in 2021. It is an impressive feat, but not impossible with the mass release of movies to streaming sites like Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+.

The show’s co-creator, Sarah Gamble, has hinted at the craziness to come in season 3. This has only ramped up the anticipation for the new addition to Joe Goldberg’s delusional, fantasy world.
