Everyone’s favourite Netflix original is back. Next Monday, the 28th, the cast and crew of Stranger Things are returning to get season four filmed.

When the coronavirus outbreak shut down most of the world into lockdown, the show had to pause filming. At the time filming was shut down, Stranger Things was only in the early days of filming. Still lots of work to do!

Season Four is assumed to have eight episodes, thanks to a tweet from the writers of the show. In the tweet, a pile of eight scripts can be seen, all finished.

The hotly anticipated fourth season comes off the back of a dramatic season finale for season three. The end of the third series saw fan-favourite Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour) seemingly dead.

However, the trailer shows Hopper well and alive – though in Russia – much to the happiness of keen fans. This reveal does raise questions, though. How is he alive? Why is he in Russia?

The answers to these questions can only be found in the next season.

What Can We Expect From The New Season?

Actor Joe Kerry, who plays Steve Harrington, has called the upcoming series the “scariest yet.”

“I think this year – and I know I say it every single year – but this is definitely going to be a lot scarier than prior years, because last year was pretty dark.”

He cites season four’s success to the show’s creators. “Oh man, it’s pretty amazing – the Duffer brothers have really done it again.”

Harbour shares a similar view. At Liverpool Comic Con, he stated that, “There are these three things that we’ve established in the season that, if we don’t pay off, it means that they’re bad writers. And the Duffer brothers are very good writers.”

Speaking on the reappearance of a very alive Hopper in the trailer, Harbour teased, “So I know specifically that in season four we will give you a big, huge reveal about Hopper’s backstory.”

When Can I See The New Season?

Currently, there is no release date. Though it was rumoured to be premiering early next year, this is unlikely now with the big disruption to filming.

In case you are missing the Stranger Things world, why not look at these Halloween costumes you could put together for next month?
