In celebration of the beloved Friday the 13th, Netflix has gifted us a new horror series to ignite our fears. Marianne is destined to fuel our horror needs and get us ready for the quickly approaching Halloween.

With eight episodes, the French series follows the life of a young and successful horror writer Emma and the stories she’s written. Essentially her stories are based off of real phenomenon, a.k.a a witch who lives in her dreams. She writes in an attempt to destroy this monster, but, as the trailer shows, this apparently does not happen. Instead, her stories come alive and the witch living in them is determined to ‘punish her’.

From what I can tell from the trailer this looks like some high quality horror, and I certainly wouldn’t want to mess with that terrifying witch thing. Hopefully Emma destroys it once and for good, I just wonder if she’ll have to use her writing to do it.

Halloween is getting an early start this year with all the new horror additions, and that couldn’t make me happier. A little suspense and terror is always good for the heart.
