Netflix Releases The First Eight Minutes Of Stranger Things Season 4 – The Cliffhanger Is Major!

Is everyone else counting down the days until season 4 drops?

The highly-anticipated fourth season of Stranger Things drops on the 27th of May. Ahead of its release, the show’s YouTube channel has released the first eight minutes of Stranger Things season 4.

What happens in the first eight minutes?

Though the next series of Stranger Things follows on from the events of season 3, the first eight minutes of season 4 take us back in time to 1979, where we reconnect with the baddie from season one, Dr. Martin Brenner.

The scenes start with Dr. Brenner putting one of his superpowered experiments to the test. Everything starts to spiral when the child—‘Ten’—starts to see visions of a massacre within the compound.

In a dramatic cliff-hanger, we find out that the person responsible for these many, bloody killings is Eleven.

What happened in the last season of Stranger Things?

Season three ended very dramatically, with the gang managing (against all odds) to close the gate to the Upside-Down. However, much to everyone’s despair, this victory came at a cost.

Most notably, Billy and Hopper had to sacrifice themselves in order for our favourite characters to succeed. Or did they? Eagle-eyed fans noticed at the end of the finale that Hopper could in fact still be alive…and considering David Harbour is back for season 4, it’s looking good that Hopper has managed to live.

In order to find out how, we’ll have to tune into season 4.

What do we know about Stranger Things season 4?

We don’t know much about season 4 of Stranger Things. What we do know is that the plot picks up six months after the events of the season 3 finale, and all our favourite characters will be back. Oh, except Barb, Bob, Alexei, and Billy. Yeah, they’re pretty dead.

Netflix had this to say about the plot of season 4:

“In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

How many supernatural threats can these teenagers face before it ends? Well, given this is the final season, perhaps the answer is: just one more.

How have people reacted to the clip?

People online have been loving the video Netflix posted. One twitter user wrote:

While another remarked on the horror of the clip, and what it might mean for the rest of the series. After all, several cast members have said season 4 is the scariest so far!

Overall, everyone is pretty excited. Luckily, we don’t have much longer to wait.

When can I watch season 4?

The fourth (and final) season of Stranger Things is split into two halves, or “volumes” as the creators are calling them. Volume 1 premieres on Netflix this Friday, the 27th of May. You can catch Volume 2 on the 1st of July.

For more details of what to expect when the show airs, the full trailer for the show should give you some clues.
