Is ‘Mare of Easttown’ One of the Greatest Shows of All Time?

HBO Max’s Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet is getting fantastic reviews. The show’s final episode welcomed the largest audience for an HBO Original Series on the HBO Max platform. The series stars Kate Winslet, Evan Peters, Julianne Nicholson, Guy Pearce, Jean Smart, and Angourie Rice. 

Here is the synopsis for the dramatic and enjoyable show:

As her life crumbles around her, a small-town Pennsylvania detective Mare Sheehan (Kate Winslet) investigates a local murder. The series explores the dark side of a close community and provides an explanation of how family and past tragedies can define our present.

Wow, this does look good! Have you seen the series yet? People describe the show as a masterpiece. This should definitely be on your watchlist if you have not already seen it!

Winslet shared her response to the show’s director, Craig Zobel, offering to cut out a shot of a sex scene that showed her character with a ‘bulgy bit of belly’. She recapped for the New York Times, telling him:

Don’t you dare.

(My character is) a fully functioning, flawed woman with a body and a face which moves in a way that is a synonymous with her age. 

I think we’re starved of that a bit. 

The show is labelled as a “limited series” and currently has seven episodes. Viewers are hoping that Mare of Easttown will get a second season, due to its increasing popularity and success. Check out this series on HBO Max to see for yourself what everyone is talking about!
