We first saw Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5 just a few days ago. We hoped to learn more about the movie in the coming days, and we got them now.
Through the Empire exclusive, we know what shenanigans Professor Henry Jones Jr. will be getting up to in the franchise’s fifth installment. The new movie’s plot is set during the summer of 1969, and the Professor will be going against former Nazis of the Third Reich, almost two decades after World War II ended.
The plot will involve Operation Paperclip. It is a real-life thing where the United States government employed Nazi scientists after the war’s end. Indy will not be happy to know that his government protected the enemies he fought for years.
Indiana Jones 5 plot and character details
Jez Butterworth, the co-screenwriter of Indiana Jones 5, talked about the Operation Paperclip storyline. “The simple fact is that a bunch of ex-Nazis ran the moon-landing program,” he said. “How ‘ex’ they are is the question. And it gets up Indy’s nose….”
Harrison Ford was de-aged for Indiana Jones 5
We will see Indiana Jones, Nazis, and a group of villains that may or may not be attempting to redeem themselves for their previous atrocities. But this is Indiana Jones. So there must be some sort of ancient artifact involved, right?
There is more. The fact that Ford was de-aged through ILM’s incredible visual effects software is something to be excited about. Even Ford was stunned by how great the younger version of himself looked.
