It’s never enough for Disney fans. Regardless of what the company puts out, there’s always a call for more. In some ways, that is their fault for giving fans cinematic gold that is never outgrown, regardless of age. Disney and Pixar have created characters and stories that fans have fallen in love with and will forever want more from. Their latest release, Lightyear, is no exception.
Lightyear brings viewers into a whole new world: Buzz Lightyear the toy from the Toy Story franchise is based on Buzz Lightyear, an actual astronaut, and how his life story inspired the toy that we all love. With Lightyear‘s raging success, many fans are now calling for Woody to have a backstory movie as well. True fans will know that Woody was given a brief backstory in Toy Story 2 but fans want more. Some want an animated old western-themed movie, others just want a backstory movie in any form.
Let’s Not Forget About The Cat
As loveable of a character as Woody is, it’s hard to imagine having a movie like that top Lightyear. Although, the 90s kids will take anything to keep our childhood favorites alive and introduced to a new generation. Hopefully, they will enjoy these and appreciate them as 90s kids do. It has also been mentioned that Jessie should have a backstory movie as well. There’s definitely potential there, as long as it is treated with respect for the character that we fell in love with in Toy Story 2. Knowing Disney, this will be the case. Original stories though should still be the focus, with recent successes in Luca, Encanto, Turning Red, and Onward. Disney and Pixar both still have the creators, writers, and animators to put out quality movies. Let’s keep it going!
