Bungo Stray Dogs is a Japanese manga series about the “Armed Detective Agency” members. The manga protagonist is Atsushi Nakajima, a weretiger who has joined this agency with supernatural powers to protect Yokohama from the mafia. The manga was created by Kafka Asagiriand Sango Harukawa and debuted on December 4 2012.
On April 7 2016, the manga was adapted and released as Anime television series directed by Takuya Igarashi. The anime is written by Yōji Enokido and licensed by Crunchyroll in NA and Anime Limited in the UK. As of yet, the show has completed three seasons.
The anime tells the story of an orphaned teenager, Atsushi Nakajima, who, after being kicked out of the orphanage, decided to save a man who turned out to be detective Osamu Dazai. Later, he is pushed and asked to join a group of elite detectives who use their abilities to help their town.
In the last season, we were introduced to the cannibalism arc, and the season ended with Atsushi and Akutagawa collaborating to fight within the next six months. We also saw some character development of Atsushi as he does his best to help find the culprit behind the death of his orphanage’s headmaster.
The fourth season of Bungo Stray Dogs is scheduled to be released on January 4, 2023, at 11:00 PM JST. This season will focus on the successor of its cannibalism arc, the manga’s hunting dog arc. This will revolve around the armed detective agency being framed for being a terrorist group. The episode is available for streaming on Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll and Hulu.
