Alice in Borderland is a Japanese dystopian science fiction television series that made its debut on December 10, 2020. The show is about two men, Ryōhei Arisu and Yuzuha Usagi. They get trapped in an abandoned Tokyo where they are forced to compete in dangerous games.

The show completed its first season with eight episodes on December 10, 2020, and its second season made its debut on December 22, 2022. This season concludes with another eight episodes and all of them are currently being streamed on Netflix.

The first two episodes of the latest season introduced us to two new characters, the King of Spades and the King of Clubs. Along with this, the season premiered with its focus on Arisu, Usagi, Kuina, and Chishiya as they along with other survivors fought to survive the dangerous Tokyo.

The king of the spade is introduced as a mysterious character who is the reason behind the sudden attack of an assailant. He comes off as a ruthless being whose whole identity hasn’t been revealed yet. His game is played with a simple mindset where rules don’t seem to apply. Another plot twist is that the quartet gets introduced to Niragi, who is alive and kicking. The whole episode was action-packed and full of surprises.

The second season stands with an average rating of 7/10. Tsuchiya is praised for her role as an action heroine and Nijirô Murakami was labeled as a smirking loner. The show has been recommended by many and its first season was watched by 18 million viewers.
