It’s finally time for Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi to solve another one of Little Kilton’s mysteries. That’s right – A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder returns with its second season on May 27th.
And thankfully, because it’s a book adaptation, fans have a rough idea of what to expect. So, here’s everything you need to know.
What happened in season one?
In case you aren’t familiar or you’ve forgotten solid details, let’s briefly recap season one.
Pip, our teenage Sherlock, set out to report on an uncommon topic for her school’s EPQ (Senior Capstone Project); a murder case from her hometown, of student Andie Bell, who was believed to be murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh.

Except Pip was sure of Sal’s innocence, and spoiler, she was right.
Through endless twists, turns, burnt bridges, and an unexpected partnership with Sal’s brother Ravi, Pip uncovered the truth.
The real culprits were Andie’s English teacher, Elliot Ward, who framed and killed Sal, and Becca Bell, her sister, who pushed her whilst already injured.
The season concluded with Elliot and Becca both arrested. Then, Pip confronted one of the main antagonists of the series, Max Hastings, promising to seek justice for everybody he’s hurt.
What is the plot of season two?
Based on the second book of the series, Good Girl, Bad Blood, this season takes place six weeks after AGGGTM.
Looking at the trailer, it seems like the plot stays true to the book, unlike season one, which, at times, lacked.
Here, we get two main story lines: the Max Hastings trial and news of another disappearance. This time, it’s Jamie Reynolds, Pip’s friend and Connor’s brother, who is also a key witness in the trial.
In the book, Pip starts a podcast named A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Ravi, which retells the Andie Bell case in its true form.
And as the podcast gains more traction, fans are desperate for a second season. Pip is adamant she is finished with playing detective.
But despite all her claims and promises that she’ll never get involved with uncovering the town’s dark secrets again, Pip’s quick to agree to solve this one when the police refuse to help.
However, she’s still struggling with the fallout from the Andie Bell case, which takes a toll on her mental health throughout the story.
This second installment continues to develop Pip’s personality, showing that her need to solve mysteries isn’t glamorous but will only lead to detrimental repercussions.
Netflix promises that “This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.”
Who wrote season two?
Both seasons were adapted to screen by Poppy Cogan, but to the delight of fans, this season, the book’s author, Holly Jackson, took charge of writing the script.
A big criticism for season one was that the show scrapped key book moments, leaving some fans disappointed and feeling that the characters were underdeveloped or watered down from their novel personalities.
But Jackson shared with fans during the 2025 tour run of her book Not Quite Dead Yet that she has added a fan-favorite scene from the books that never made it to season one. That is the scene with the iconic quote from our comedian Ravi: “Real men wear floral while trespassing.”
And in a scene from the trailer, Pip is wearing her “talk nerdy to me” t-shirt, another staple from the first book, which never originally made it to the screen.
So, with the promise of these additions, it’s safe to say fans can expect more popular scenes from Good Girl, Bad Blood to remain in the show.
Who is the returning cast?
Of course, we have Wednesday star Emma Myers as our protagonist Pip, as well as Zain Iqbal portraying her sidekick, Ravi.

Portraying Pip’s friend group, we have Asha Banks as Cara Ward, Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson, and Jude Morgan-Collie as Connor Reynolds.
Henry Ashton also returns to his role of Max Hastings.
What about new characters?
For the new cast, there are many characters familiar to book fans, including Stanley Forbes, played by Misia Butler, a journalist who heavily reported on the Andie Bell case.
Fans were initially surprised that Stanley made no appearance in season one, as he was a recurring character in the book, so it’ll be interesting to see how much his role will change to fit into the show.
Next, is the subject of the season, Jamie Reynolds, played by Eden H. Davies, a “quiet but popular local musician.”
Jack Rowan takes on the role of Pip’s new neighbor, Charlie Green.
Then, a non-book character, Freddie England as Robin, Lauren’s new boyfriend, becomes a “controversial member of the friendship group.”
“I’m so excited to welcome some new and incredibly talented actors into the AGGGTM family. Eden is sensational as our Jamie; his presence is felt throughout, even though he’s missing. Misia is the perfect Stanley Forbes, delivering a truly heart-wrenching performance. And Jack as Charlie Green is simply extraordinary: I had to stand and clap at the monitors. Just you wait.”
Where can I watch it?

The six-episode season will be available to watch on both BBC Player in the UK and Netflix worldwide on 27 May. But while you wait, the first season is available to stream now.
