English rapper and singer-songwriter Mike Skinner just released a jokey new song hyping up the start of summer.

Skinner, lead vocalist of rap project The Streets, shared a behind-the-scenes look at his new song just a week ago. Asserting the amount of drugs he plans on doing come June 21, the end of lockdown, the song amps up how much fun he, and plenty others, hope to have at parties very soon.

Since United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a roadmap of lockdown to open up the country by the end of June, excitement and optimism are spreading.

The Streets holds five studio albums, but this song appears to be a stand-alone single. This follows their 2020 return from a brief hiatus with the mixtape “None of Us Are Getting Out of This Alive.” It’s possible Skinner plans on dropping an album this year to celebrate the world reopening. He dropped a preview on Twitter late last month, and it seems he’s working on new music now.

Time will tell if “who’s got the bag” becomes the catchphrase of the summer, but for now we can only listen to our favorite artists and hope we get to celebrate them with our friends once restrictions are lifted.
