A leaker from Reddit posted some interesting information about the state of Rockstar’s unannounced (but nonetheless anticipated) game, Grand Theft Auto 6.
While next to nothing official is known about the next GTA game, a streamer known as “ChrisLiberty93” leaked some news about the state of the games development over at Rockstar Studios.
This streamer is pretty well respected among gamers and has garnered a reputation for being a reliable leaker. He previously predicted the resignation of Rockstar’s higher up Dan Houser back in February and has once again taken to Reddit to do some fortune telling.
In this now deleted Reddit post, the leaker claimed that the story for GTA 6 was written prior to Dan Houser leaving the studio, which is good news for any fans of the series since he was one of the key writers for the franchise.
According to TechRadar,
“Chris ‘Liberty93’ from Rockstar Mag (a French fan site) claims the story for Grand Theft Auto 6 was wrapped up prior to the departure of Rockstar’s head writer, Dan Houser, and that the next GTA entry will still have the “soul” of a typical Rockstar game”
It’s assuring that, according to these leaks, the new game will still have the same humor and tone that fans are accustomed to. The leaks also noted that the map would be bigger than anything we’ve seen from Rockstar before and that:
“Although a finished story might suggest a release date for GTA 6 is close, Chris did point out that many changes were made to Red Dead Redemption 2’s story during development, despite it being ‘completed’ way back in 2012”
Millions of people still play GTA 5, so I can only imagine the numbers a new game in the series could pull in. It’s one of the most popular and beloved franchises in gaming so the sooner this game comes out the better. But, regardless, these leaks are an interesting look behind the scenes if they’re to be believed. If you want to know more about the development of GTA 6, check this out.
