According to some sources, Radhika Merchant had signed a prenup before the wedding. It states in case of divorce, she will get a million dollars, and the Ambani house. However, this could be a mere rumour as there is a lack of evidence on this matter. There have been speculations, however, that the “Ambani Wedding” is a mere show off of wealth to get public attention and to deal with competitors.
Mukesh Ambani has also acquired assets in the media industry. The wedding would be great for his business as it allowed a good public image. There was an insane amount of coverage in the media, both local and international.
Furthermore, Ambani paid for the marriages of 50 underprivileged couples. He gave 1200 USD to the couples as well as gold and silver gifts. The estimate of the money spent is 100,000 USD. Although it is a good gesture, this is nothing compared to the wealth he has amassed over the years as well as the millions spent for his son’s wedding.
