Logan Paul’s Latest Obsession: Pokémon Cards!

The YouTube star recently spent $2m adding to his collection.

Even if you aren’t a frequent flier over on YouTube, most people have heard of Logan Paul. His notoriety peaked around 2017 when Paul was filming in Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji, known to be a frequent site of suicides. It was here Paul and his crew came across a hanged man, they all made jokes and were completely disrespectful. The video was taken down, but not before many of his 15 million viewers saw some of that controversial 15-minute video. With such press surrounding him already, what in the world could Logan Paul be up to now?

How about spending $2,000,000 on Pokémon cards!

Yes, you read that correctly — Paul recently spent $2M on unopened 1st edition Pokémon boxes, many of them were the first to ever be released. Paul got six boxes, each one contains 36 packs which is over 400 cards! He chose to begin auctioning off 36 packages of the rare Pokémon on Goldin Auctions at the beginning of February and it ends on the 11th. On February 27, Paul will film an unboxing of the other cards in hopes of finding Charizard. By the way, February 27 just so happens to be Pokémon day! Now that’s the kind of wholesome entertainment people are craving.

Now, do we wish that Logan Paul was giving some of these cards away to children in hospitals or doing some other noble act? Yes, yes we do. But are we happy he is being uncomplicated for once?
