When Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West announced their impending divorce, they added their names to an extensive list of celebrity elites whose dynastic relationships ended in separation.
With most cases of celebrity divorce, the end of Kimye ricocheted through the gossip industry (and naturally conspiracies, dramas, theories, philosophies all abounded). However, as of 2 March. 2022, Kim Kardashian had severed all ties with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and was again declared ‘officially single.’
As ofttimes happens, the demise of one celebrity relationship leads to the rise of another. In this case, Kimye gave way, and as early as October rumors emerged of a blooming romance between Kardashian and comedian Pete Davidson.
After Ye and The Game released a second music video for their song ‘Eazy,’ which appeared to show Davidson being beaten by a skinned monkey.
The song hails from Ye’s most recent album ‘Donda 2,’ and the video depicts a blurred-faced figure wearing a pullover with the word ‘Skete’ on it–the word West uses to refer to Davidson. The skinned monkey featured on the album’s cover art then arrives and attacks this questionably Davidson-like figure.
On Sunday, “Saturday Night Live” guest writer David Sirus shared screenshots of a conversation between Davidson and West in which Davidson defends Kardashian as a mother and asks West to “grow the f–k up.”
Sirus shared the alleged conversation after West took to his Instagram to criticize Kardashian for allowing their daughter, North, 8, to stay on TikTok against his own wishes.
The screenshots showed Davidson voicing his support for Kardashian, writing that she is, “literally the best mother I’ve ever met,” before he turned to criticizing West’s own parenting skills.
“What she does for those kids is amazing and you’re f—-g lucky that she’s your kids’ mom,” Davidson continued. “I’ve decided I’m not going to let you treat us this way anymore and I’m done being quiet. Grow the f— up.”
“Oh you using profanity now,” West responded. “Where are you right now?”
Davidson shot back with a selfie of himself and a text that read, “In bed with your wife.”
“Happy to see you’re out the hospital and rehab,” West replied via text.
“Same here. It’s wondering what those places do when you go get help. You should try it,” Davidson wrote. “I’m in La for the day if you wanna stop being a little internet bitch boy and talk.”
Davidson repeatedly asked West to meet with him to discuss the situation, and he even asked the rapper to come to his hotel room to converse “privately one on one.”
However, West urged Davidson to meet him in public at his Sunday Service, but the SNL star refused, saying, “This isn’t public dude. I’m not here for the pictures and press. Which is obviously all you care about.”
Davidson then wrote to the rapper that he too struggles “with mental stuff too. It’s not an easy journey.” And the SNL star went on to plea that West doesn’t “have to feel this way anymore.”
West, however, went on to claim that Davidson had knowingly antagonized him with the claim that he was in bed with his wife.
With the hsitory of Hollywood divorce dramas and celebrity breakups and roiling relationships written along the front pages of tabloids for years, this newest chapter in the story of an ended public marriage will surely find itself among the many, many archives.
