Significantly, the New York Knicks won their first NBA title in over 50 years, NYC stirring in a frenzy. NY Knicks merchandise has been flying off the shelves, even with non-sports lovers sporting merch. This summer, you will definitely not be alone, and it’s a great conversation starter if you’re looking to make friends. Now with the FIFA World Cup in town, there are even more reasons to get in on the fun.

New York City is a multicultural place that is a true melting pot where different interests and passions meet. The summer NYC is having is bringing out the best in our city and its people. The Knicks bring out our love of a good underdog, while the FIFA World Cup brings people together. New Yorkers and tourists alike are enjoying taking in all of the wins this summer.

The NYC Transit Museum

The NYC Transit Museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and it should definitely be on your bucket list. Many events throughout the summer celebrate the occasion. A multi-season scavenger hunt from June through the fall allows participants to join in on the fun. A new exhibit at the transit museum about the quirky history of the NYC transit system is also included. Among all of this is an appreciation for the metro system that keeps our city running.

Did you know that the NY Transit Museum @nytransitmuseum is celebrating its 50th Anniversary? As part of this huge milestone, the museum is hosting an exhibit that pays homage to the infamous Orange Seats. Ode to the Orange Seats is now open through June 2027 and I'm honored to have 3 pieces in this exhibit alongside an amazing group of talented artists. I'm a proud to represent my Venezuelan roots and highlight the wonderful stories that we all experience in this wonderful metropolis that we call home! Make sure to pay a visit, snap a photo and enjoy this wonderful museum and this amazing exhibition.

The Circuit, and The Troll: Your summer cultural bucket list

New York City is a city of immense culture and expression. There is so much art in this city, including some more experimental activities. The Circuit is a silent disco ballet that’s running until the 29th of June. The best of everything the city has to offer, this is an immersive, unique musical experience of culture and art. Make it part of your NYC summer of 2026 bucket list!

This summer, a special guest arrives at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, just a short trip from NYC. A giant troll made of reclaimed wood from an Adirondack installation is making its way down to Tupper Lake for a view of NYC and a chance to save humanity. The troll statue is part of a larger project aiming to bring whimsy and a love for the Earth back to city dwellers who sometimes forget that being part of the world means slowing down and being one with nature. Enjoy the new visitor at the Wild Center of Tupper Lake while it’s there until Halloween 2026.

@philbuildthefuture "The Circuit" is an immersive silent disco ballet and site-specific theatre experience. As an audience member, you are given wireless headphones that broadcast pre-recorded dialogue and an original EDM score. While listening, you walk through the streets of DUMBO, watching the performers tell the story in real-time through contemporary dance. The Story: The production is inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s 1897 play La Ronde. It offers a modern, fluid meditation on desire, loyalty, and relationships across a chain of characters. Location: The experience begins at Superfine located at 126 Front St., Brooklyn, NY. Duration: The event is 1 hour and 25 minutes long with no intermission. Tickets: Prices generally range from $40 to $55 and can be booked via TodayTix or the New York Theatre Company.@thecircuitnyc ♬ sonido original – _Antonio_edm_

Whether in the heart of NYC or a little ways away in the country, New York is a place of expression, conversation, connection, and culture. Whether you’re finding it at The Circuit or in upstate NY with our lovely troll friend, take the time to step back, appreciate what you have in this little world of ours, and consider what you can do to bring a little bit of love back into your life and the lives of others around you.

Smorgasburg

Of all the things this city has to offer, NYC residents and tourists can agree on one thing: we know how to make (and eat) good food. Smorgasburg is a beloved Brooklyn-based food festival that has been bringing multicultural food to NYC residents since May 2011. Dubbed “The Woodstock of Eating,” the food fest has been a food culture staple, serving more than 2 million NYC residents and visitors every year. Smorgasburg proudly works with hundreds of independent food and drink vendors every year, incubating many family- and small-run businesses in the process.

Saturdays in Williamsburg and Sundays in Prospect Park, but new and exciting additions have been added to the rotation. Now on Thursdays and Fridays, you can find Smorgasburg at the World Trade Center, and on Thursdays through Saturdays in Central Park. Smorgasburg’s expansion has come to the excitement of many, with their grand opening for the summer season bringing in more people than ever before. Smorgasburg features a different theme every month based on regional foods and monthly cultural celebrations.

Enjoy Smorgasburg at its various locations this year until they close in October. It’s no wonder that the idea has caught on, to the point of there having been pop-up Smorgasburgs in New Jersey, Ontario, Kingston, NY, and Washington, D.C, and with recurring pop-ups in Osaka, Japan, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, among others.

Have the perfect summer in NYC with the perfect bucket list

The summer of 2026 in New York City is shaping up to be an eventful, multicultural, exciting summer. From the FIFA World Cup and all of the related events and citywide celebrations, to the energy after the Knicks win. From the NYC Transit Museum celebration, immersive art experiences to Smorgasburg food fests, this summer has it all.

There’s nothing quite like a NYC summer. The heat rising off the pavement, the fashion, food, culture, and sounds. It’s a special place that truly exists like its own separate ecosystem. Our vibes are palpable and contagious, which is why giant watch parties in cities like LA took off during the Knicks playoffs. We are an epicenter of humanity like few others, an influencer city, if you will. In addition to your summer 2026 itinerary, you can find the soundtrack of your summer.

New York City has this way of bringing magic to the mundane. We turn sports wins into cross-borough celebrations of humanity, NYC trains turn into something more, and food from all over the world brings people together. These are the reasons why we are great, no matter what anyone says. Not because we all look the same, or like the same teams, or believe in the same causes. Because we are humans experiencing the magic of life, keeping our hearts and minds open, we are great.
