Fans of the hit drama series Succession were intrigued by a fashion choice made by the character Roman Roy, played by Kieran Culkin, in the series finale.

Roman, known for his “stealth wealth” style, surprised viewers by wearing a pale blue T-shirt with multicolored striped sleeves. It was later discovered that the T-shirt is actually from the children’s section of Walmart.

The affordable nature of the garment, which retails for $13.96, caused a stir on social media, with fans expressing shock and delight at seeing a character known for his extravagant lifestyle wearing such an inexpensive item. Many remarked on the unexpectedness of the choice and how it deviated from Roman’s usual wardrobe of button-up shirts and expensive plain T-shirts.

Succession’s costume designer, Michelle Matland, revealed that Culkin has a significant say in choosing his character’s wardrobe. She mentioned that Roman is portrayed as the most casually dressed character, moving through the room without any specific agenda. Culkin actively participates in selecting his character’s outfits, spending hours rummaging through the wardrobe to find pieces that resonate with him.

The series finale of Succession received positive reviews, with The Independent giving it four out of five stars and describing it as a poetic and violent conclusion to the show. The T-shirt choice for Roman added an unexpected element to his character’s fashion portrayal and sparked discussions among fans.
