The pint-sized slasher is set to return to screens this Halloween season in a new television series which promises to be a gore-filled delight, as it’s trailer shows.

The series trailer for the newest entry in the cult-classic Child’s Play franchise just dropped during the ‘Legacy of Chucky’ panel from last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, much to the delight of horror fans. The aptly-titled Chucky will air during this Halloween, premiering October 12th on USA and SyFy.

Chucky promises to maintain the franchise’s gory history, as a quiet American town is thrust into chaos following the appearance of a certain Good Guy doll at a yard sale, a sure sign for franchise veterans that what’s to come will be anything but ‘good’. From there an outcast teen and his peers must try and survive the onslaught of terror unleashed by the notorious serial killer-turned doll, alongside some familiar faces from Chucky’s past. If the trailer is anything to go by, then the series will be a nonstop thrill-ride of shocks, scares and, of course, plenty of bloodshed to sate the appetites of new and old fans alike.

Chucky’s Unfinished Business

The television series reportedly follows on from the cliff-hanger ending 2017’s Cult of Chucky, with longstanding legends of the franchise reprising their roles including Brad Dourif, the original voice of Chucky and Jennifer Tilly, actress of the fan-favorite Tiffany Valentine. Also returning is showrunner and series creator Don Mancini alongside both Alex Vincent and Christine Elise McCarthy known to fans as Andy and Kyle, stars of the original Child’s Play trilogy. With so many familiar faces amongst the cast and crew, this new series is sure to be an absolute blast for fans.

The series is shaping up to be a thrilling celebration of Child’s Play‘s legacy and with hype steadily rising one thing’s for sure, this Halloween is going to be a brilliantly bloody treat for horror buffs.
