Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters is Thinking About Performing His Album ‘The Wall’ On The US-Mexico Border

History certainly is repeating itself.

If you’re too young to know about English rock band Pink Floyd, don’t worry, I am too. Pink Floyd was really popular in the 80’s, and their album “The Wall” resonated with a lot of the historic chaos that was brewing at the time, particularly about the circumstances in Germany. Roger Waters, who is the singer, songwriter, and bassist of the group, performed the album to honor the fall of the Berlin Wall back in 1990.

While the album wasn’t written specifically about the Berlin Wall or any wall, Waters seems to think that the songs highlight what’s going on in political affairs today. He even hinted that he would perform the album on the US-Mexican border, to rebel against Trump’s far-right ideas.

Here’s what he had to say:

“The Wall is very relevant now with Mr. Trump and all of this talk of building walls and creating as much enmity as possible races and religions.

The album is about how detrimental building walls can be on a personal level, but also on broader levels.

There will first need to be an awakening against these far-right policies. The sewers are engorged by greedy and powerful men as I speak to you.

Music is a legitimate place to express protest, musicians have an absolute right, a duty, to open their mouths to speak out.

I hope he does go through with this concert idea. I certainly can’t think of a better arena. For more walls, here’s Japanese Kitty Scales Climbing Wall Like a Pro!
