Rumors are floating about today as to whether the popular Black Mirror episode ‘USS Callister’ will become its very own spin-off show.

“This is a dream it has to be”- character Nanette Cole, you couldn’t be more wrong.

The first episode of Black Mirror’s new season left fans mesmerized.

Set like an old-fashioned sci-fi episode, the ‘USS Callister’ reveals itself to be merely a power fantasy, VR stimulator of ‘Captain’ Robert Daly to escape his mundane reality. But the arrival of a new recruit discovers nothing on the spaceship is what it appears.

Characters, producers, and directors alike all want ‘USS Callister’ to become its own spin-off show almost as much as we do!

“I’ve heard little buzzes. But I don’t believe anything until I’m working on set.” Revealed Jimmi Simpson, who plays Walton.

Yes, yes! We know that this is as vague as vague can be. But don’t be disheartened. Toby Haynes, the episode’s director revealed that producer Louise Sutton has also been juggling with the ‘brilliant idea of spinning [the episode] into a TV series’.

And Louise, we couldn’t agree more!

Haynes himself also couldn’t contain his enthusiasm for the prospect: “I’d love to do a TV series of “USS Callister” — it’s probably one of the best pilots for a space show ever. And I made it! So I’m keen to see it as a TV series.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that an episode follow-up has been discussed, with rumors of a “San Junipero” spin-off, being circulated only a few months ago, and we have yet to see those materialize.

But, for now, nobody can say as to whether we’ll be seeing more of USS Callister, but the prospect isn’t light-years away.

Not had enough of ‘Black Mirror’ craziness for the day, have a look at this:
