A family is at odds with both creature and man–how quiet can they remain in the face of these two threats?

Netflix continues to reign as the supreme streaming service, churning out hit movies and series with remarkable speed. On April 10th, Netflix will release their newest horror movie: The Silence.

Based off of Tim Lebbon’s 2015 novel, The Silence, a family must stick together to fend off mysterious creatures that hunt their prey by hearing the sounds people make. The winged-monsters have acute enough hearing to detect the muted coughs of an old lady, and they then descend onto the source of the sound with terrifying intensity.

As a lot of horror movies point out–who is worse, the monsters or the humans? As factions are formed and the stakes rise, do the humans become more monstrous than the monsters they are fighting?  The trailer suggests that people may prove just as dangerous as the winged beasts that hunt them.
