The 4 Scariest Horror Films on Netflix Ranked

Would you watch them?

Not everyone likes a horror film. If you do, Netflix is the place to go. With its massive range from psychological thrillers, gore and cult films, there’s certainly something for every horror film-loving viewer.

Netflix has not always been known as being strong in the horror film department. Many would argue that the section is not as well-maintained as the others, with much less recent films and quite a large amount of very mediocre, non-scary ones. In recent times though, Netflix seems to have stepped it up. Amongst its horror films, some are apparently too horrifying to even sit through till the end. What’s all that about?

As the one making these claims is Netflix themselves, it is not necessarily 100% reliable. It is likely that many do not finish watching the film out of mere boredom as opposed to being too scared. There are definitely a few good ones among their variety of horror films though, listed below.

4. Teeth (2007)

This movie is a weird one. It’s not so much scary as it is unbearably uncomfortable to watch. I think it’s safe to say there’s a lot of guys out there who wouldn’t be able to endure watching this entire film. This is understandable given the bizarre plot of a young woman’s genitalia containing literal teeth, which she then uses to avenge men who have scorned her. Ouch…

3. The Conjuring (2013)

A classic. Any horror fanatic will appreciate the Conjuring films. They are filled with suspense and plot twists which keeps you on the edge of the seat the entire time you are watching. There are definitely a few very jumpy scenes too, so be prepared.

2. The Human Centipede (2011)

This one is really messed up. If the first one didn’t traumatize you enough, this one will do the trick. It follows the story of a lonely, psychotic man who is obsessed with the original Human Centipede film and concept. He decides to take this idea, and take it to a new level…

1. Veronica (2017)

This one has been all the talk recently. A young teenage girl becomes possessed after playing with an ouija board (slightly predictable). However, director, Paco Plaza knows exactly how to build suspense and really make your skin crawl.
