Imagine: you are casually driving down the street. You have gone down this road a million times. The most exciting thing that has ever happened to you on this strip is the time a bird almost flew into your windshield. But today, driving down this same street, you suddenly see a sinkhole open up and absorb 20+ cars.
Unfortunately for some, they don’t have to use their imagination. If they were near this shopping mall in China on the night of August 19, 2020, they would have been able to witness a sinkhole of that magnitude appear out of thin air (ground?).
Authorities have confirmed that no one was injured during the incident, but that does not make it any less scary. Any one could have been walking across that parking lot the moment the ground opened up.

The fact that a hole like this can just open up at any time in any place is definitely worrisome. I mean, I could be swallowed into the ground the second I finish this sentence for all I know. That happening to me isn’t super likely, but you get my point.
You never know when something like this could happen. Disaster can strike at any moment. With all that being said, I suggest everyone live everyday as if a sinkhole is about to open up right under you.
