Many folks in the United States – and around the world – celebrated the US election results in which now President-elect Joe Biden defeated incumbent President Donald Trump in what has been the most intense presidential election cycle in US history.
One (shirtless) man may have been a little blinded by his excitement at the time to realize that perhaps interrupting a French reporter and playfully mocking the French was not the greatest idea.

In the short clip, the man says to the reporter and camera:
“And I think France is beautiful. I ate/hate escargot. I love a croissant. I love an omelette du fromage.”
Although mocking the way someone speaks is never okay, it is very clear that ‘Omelette Du Fromage’ Man was simply having fun and meant no harm by his interview bombing. As a matter of fact, according to an article by Forbes, the man has since been identified as a 30-year-old named Meka who lives in Washington, D.C. and is legitimately a huge fan of France. In the article, he states:
“The French are great,” he said. “I love French food. I love the basic jam there. I love the clothing. I definitely want to come back there and I can’t wait to travel. That was one of my plans this year that was canceled by Covid.”
With COVID-19 running rampant in the US, it may be quite sometime before Meka can visit France again. In terms of his ‘interview’, Meka himself wonders why he did the stereotypical ‘hon hon hon’ French laugh at the time and hopes that no one was too offended by his antics.
