One moment Amber Roberts is filming a weakened bridge near Winston-Salem. The next it collapses, nearly taking the Fox 46 reporter with it.
Allegedly, a picture paints a thousand words. Well, this video only requires one, and I’m not sure it’s appropriate. So we’ll talk once you’ve had a look.
Roberts describes the events as a ‘scary situation for me and my photojournalists’. I think a simple ‘f*cking hell’ would have been more succinct. The flooding that led to the collapse has been caused by tropical storm Eta, which has torn through the US over the past few days.
As global temperatures continue to rise the frequency of events such as Eta will only increase. But hey, it’s not all bad, more storms means more great films by storm chasers like Mike Olbinski.
Not convinced? Well if the prospect of death by storm or collapsing bridge is getting you down, then why not watch a video of two stormtroopers questioning their existence?
A bit tenuous? More of a morbid type huh? Well, here’s the clock that tells us when climate change has become irreversible. Have a great day!
