Imagine Where’s Waldo?, but replace Waldo with one of Earth’s most fascinating creatures: the Snow Leopard. Acclaimed nature lover and renowned ecotourist guide Surya Ramachandran filmed an incredible sight in Ladakh, India. Several snow leopard’s camouflaged themselves against the red rocks of the Himalayan mountains.
Twitter user @Geo_Sophist posted the footage, with the caption: “How many #snowleopards can you spot? Imagine the rare skill of snow leopard trackers who scan such bleak landscapes each day for signs of life? On a trip to Ulley, #Ladakh, Nov 2018 I was moved to tears by this sight (filmed by Surya Ramachandran). #InternationalSnowLeopardDay.”
I spotted three snow leopard’s, but it took me a minute to see them! Watch the video below.
Currently, like so many other animal species in the world, the once-populous snow leopard has gradually decreased in nature. Native to Asia — including countries like China, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, and Mongolia — the current status of the species is vulnerable.
It’s an incredible sight to behold to see because big cats rarely allow themselves to be seen.
Surya Ramachandran has posted some incredible photo’s of the snow leopard in their natural habitat on social media account.
