By now, it’s hardly a secret that the COVID-19, coronavirus, is a global pandemic. In order to slow down its spread, several countries have taken intensive measures that promote cleanliness and social distancing. This is particularly evident in the countries where the cases of people infected with the coronavirus is especially out of control and rampant.
Italy, the country that had the most cases before the United States had overtaken them a few days ago, had been on lockdown since March 9th with the government urging its citizens to stay in their homes and only go out if it was absolutely necessary.
To deal with this intensive quarantine, the country that is home to the Vatican has had to take many steps to adapt and go about their lives as efficiently as possible. These measures that Italy has taken include several churches making their sermons and services stream-able online so that no one violates the rule against large public gatherings.
One such priest that live-streamed was Paolo Longo, the parish priest of the Church of San Pietro and San Benedetto di Polla in Salerno province. Father Longo made his mass service available to the church’s parishioners on Facebook. It was in this service that the priest had accidentally turned on the face filters option and made the mass into a lighthearted event amid all the gloom surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.
See for yourself why the priest went viral in the video clip below:
