The Reptile Zoo shot to viral fame by posting educational reptile videos, but it’s not all fun and scale; watch the moment where this keeper came face to fangs with a hungry alligator.
It’s Feeding Time
Meals at The Reptile Zoo in Fountain Valley, CA are no walk in the park – more like a slither through the Nile. This keeper can safely say she looked death in the face and laughed… Hysterically. Probably, almost definitely, out of fear for her life.
The video exploded onto TikTok in the past week. With 71.4 million views, 4.4 million likes, and 50.3k comments, many were quick to voice their concern. Even the huge streaming platform Netflix was worried, writing
“Not seeing another video posted since this one. pls confirm you’re alive”

The crocodile on the run is known as Darth Gator; let’s just be glad she didn’t get Darth Maul-ed…
Gator on the Go
You may be wondering – how on earth do you solve THAT problem? Never fear, people of California – Darth hasn’t gone full Jurassic World on us just yet. The folks at The Reptile Zoo knew exactly what to do:
“Only one way out and only one way in ? luckily we raised Darth from a baby and he’s very mellow for a gator”
@thereptilezoo via TikTok
Ahh yes. “Mellow for a gator” – never thought I’d hear those words in the same sentence.
It turns out The Reptile Zoo has been posting content about Darth Gator for the past 8 years; Darth appears to be a local celebrity! It’s no wonder he’s such a natural at TikTok – some creatures are just born to be in the spotlight.
Komodo Cuddles
In other news, that same keeper stunned TikTok once again when filmed giving a Philippines water monitor some TLC.
The zoo clearly has a lot of love for all creatures, great and small:
“How gorgeous is this big teddy bear ??”

Large lizard? Yes. Teddy bear? I’m not so sure. Follow @thereptilezoo for more like this!
