We all owe essential workers a huge “thank you” right now for keeping society together while a pandemic threatens all other aspects of normalcy. But an essential worker in Delaware did even more than what her job required.
The now-viral delivery woman from Amazon was delivering a package ordered by Lynn Staffieri— little did Staffieri know, her 13-year-old son had left very specific instructions for the delivery.
“Knock on the door 3 times and scream abra cadabra as loud as you can and run super fast away,” read the special delivery instructions left by Jacob Staffieri.
Watch the iconic delivery below.
The video of the delivery shows the driver closely following the directions. She knocks three times, frantically yells, “Abra cadabra!” and then runs away, even jumping over an object in the front yard to make an escape.
This delivery driver certainly went the extra mile in this request— and by doing so, shared the comedic prank with millions. The original Facebook post by Staffieri has racked up over 2 million views. And although she is yet to be identified, this essential worker not only deserves gratitude for both maintaining her job during this scary time, but also for spreading laughter.
These instructions resulted in a much needed heartwarming story. For all of our next online orders, maybe we should make use of the “additional instructions” box by adding an extra “thank you” to the essential worker. After all, since the pandemic began, Amazon sales have skyrocketed— and most likely, so has the workload of its deliverers.
