Now that Breaking Bad is off air, it appears that meth-related media content would be falling, but a compelling story revolving around the manufacturing of crystal meth has just been reported.
Recently, a man in Maine was taken into custody for allegedly running a meth lab in his local church. In the children’s playroom of that church, no less. Yes, the operation was headquartered in a Methodist church. According to New York Post, the suspect was actually arrested after officials from Buxton United Methodist Church reported “suspicious activity” to the Buxton police on Thursday, December 5th.
The suspect, Matthew Anderson, is 33 years old. He is being charged with “unlawful operation of a methamphetamine lab”. The evidence related to this case includes “items that are consistent with the manufacturing process of methamphetamine”, as reported by Sick Chirpse. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency was called to the scene when they were found. The items were found in the children’s play area at the church.
Currently, Anderson’s court date is set in January, his bond unpaid at $50,000. At the moment, he is being held in Maine’s York County Jail. Questions remain regarding how Anderson had access to the playroom at all within the church, and for how long this operation lasted.
