United States Air Force Publishes Warning For Alien Hunters

The U.S. government does not take these jokes lightly.

In less than a month, the Facebook event inviting people to storm Area 51 has collected over 2 million RSVP’s.

In case you’ve been on a hiatus from the internet, here is a quick recap. Matty Roberts of California started a Facebook event called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All Of Us.” What started as a joke has now become a world wide story that millions of people are following.

Because so many people have pledged to raid the government facility, the Air Force has had to make a statement. Laura McAndrews, spokeswoman for the Air Force, had this to say:

[Area 51] is an open training range for the U.S. Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces.

The U.S. Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets

Granted it probably wasn’t the best idea to grab world wide attention with this if they were planning a real raid. Every government agency in the United States is aware of this event and is even preparing for this event. Even if the over 2 million people from the internet actually show up, the U.S. military could still do quite a bit of damage to that many people. And it sounds like they will not be afraid to shoot, no matter how big the army of “Kyles'” is.

I am just as curious as the next guy about the secrets of Area 51. But I certainly don’t think it is worth losing life over. Maybe there are aliens there, maybe there aren’t. Maybe the secrets being kept there are even worse than aliens. With the government, you never know. I just hope people are smart enough to stay home come September 20th.

If you missed the start of this shenanigan, here is some more information about the event.
