A Siberian Lake known as “Novosibirsk Maldives” is attracting Instagrammers for its glowing turquoise color. The glowing turquoise isn’t because of Mother Nature, but because of something more toxic. The bright color is the result of toxic dumping of ash from a nearby coal plant and that the pond is artificial. The power plant has warned Instagrammers that the water isn’t safe to swim in, due to the high amounts of calcium salts and other metal oxides.
Internet personalities will go great lengths for internet clout. From tampering with food to digesting laundry detergent, people will do anything for their fifteen minutes of fame. If you want to gain long-term fame, then do something that’s actually productive. Write a book, open a business, or volunteer at a children’s hospital, do something that will actually make a difference.
