This koi carp becomes the world’s most expensive fish at $1.8 million.

Yes, these are just fish but they’re not your ordinary goldfish. Koi carp have become an expensive hobby to many, especially in Japan. These special fish are breed as an expensive hobby.

In Japan, breeding koi is also a competitive competition. The fish are judged by their shape, color, glossiness, and texture, in addition to the way they swim freely.

These koi carps have a lifespan of twenty to thirty years, but are said to look their best around their tenth year of age. To care for these beautiful fish, they need the best food and water.

The koi carp sold at a record price and is known as S Legend. She was breed in Hiroshima, Japan at Kentaro Sakai’s fish farm. Kentaro Sakai has many years of experience in breeding these carps and is a champion himself.

S Legend is a red and white patterned fish. These two colors are traditional in japan and represent happiness and joy.

The koi carp S Legend is nine years old. She won first place while under Sakai’s ownership and was sold to a woman from Taiwan. Her name is Miss Yingying. There’s not much more to know about the buyer besides that.

Having a champion carp win a second time will bring a great reputation to the owner. Maybe, S Legend will do just that for Miss Yingying.

S Legend proves to be a beautiful fish. Take a look at man catches enormous once in a lifetime red emperor fish to see another fish siting.
