Alec Baldwin sits down with ABC News Anchor George Stephanopoulos for his first major interview since the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust’.

Baldwin was swept up in a surge of controversy following the accidental shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while filming Baldwin’s upcoming movie ‘Rust’. The shooting is believed to be accidental, with Baldwin claiming that he believed the gun to be loaded only with blanks at the time of the accident.

In his first major interview since the fatal accident, Baldwin reiterates his disbelief at the tragic accident and states that Hutchins was “someone who was loved by everyone” who worked with her before breaking down into tears on camera.

“I mean, even now, I find it hard to believe that– it just doesn’t seem real to me,” he goes on to say.

While many believed the accident had occurred after Baldwin unintentionally fired a live round that struck Hutchins, the actor drops a bombshell statement after being questioned by Stephanopoulos, which may shine a light on the actual events of that day.

After Stephanopoulos states that “it wasn’t in the script for the trigger to be pulled,” Baldwin responds by saying, “Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger”, details that were previously unknown surrounding the shooting.

When pressed again on the topic, Baldwin states, “No, no no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never.”

These major revelations have left many people who had been following the case shocked at Baldwin’s bombshell statements and leaves many feeling that the actor’s statements raise more questions than it answers, with some going as far as accusing Baldwin of “acting” during the interview.

Alec Baldwin’s sit-down interview aired on Thursday the 2nd of December on ABC news and is still available on Hulu.
