The Lindt & Spruengli company reported a benign malfunction with their cooling ventilation, generating— believe it or not— chocolate snow.
A malfunction at a Lindt chocolate factory on Friday, August 14, resulted in the ejection of cocoa powder into the air, miraculously falling upon the Swiss town of Olten. With the assistance of strong winds, the cocoa powder pervaded the factory’s proximity, leaving a light chocolate coating on surfaces.
Many on Twitter were reveling in this chocolate fantasy-turned-to-reality because, after all, there was finally some good news in 2020 to celebrate.
The town of Olten tweeted a photo of a car sprinkled with chocolate dust. According to the Associated Press, the company has offered to pay for clean-up, but the offer still remains on the table.
Following the accident, which was fortunately benign, the factory was able to proceed with their normal operations. The cooling ventilation too, has been fixed.
I guess that means no more chocolate snow for the time being, but hey, at least we now know it exists.
