It’s that time of the year again-fall has arrived, pumpkin spice is here, and this month marks the 25th anniversary of Gilmore Girls!
In honor of this, we’ll be looking back at some of the most stylish looks and essential fall items from our favorite mother-daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory.
Stay tuned to see which of your favorite pieces made the cut.
1) Leather jackets

Starting strong with a classic Lorelai Gilmore look with a red turtle neck paired with a leather jacket.
An outfit that not only captures the essence of chilly weather, but is amazingly stylish at the same time.
Leather jackets are a major staple for fall, and they will always spruce up any outfit!
2) Oversized sweater

A Rory Gilmore closet staple, an oversized sweater.
If there was one thing about Rory Gilmore, she’s always going to rock a comfy, oversized sweater.
This white cable knit sweater, paired with classic bootcut jeans and some good old Converse, is the perfect outfit for fall and a study day.
3) Business meets simple

Next up, we have Lorelai and one of her classic business-casual ensembles.
Perfect for the season as we approach chilly weather, but still want to look stylish in the office.
Lorelai Gilmore is our ultimate girl-boss and manages to pull off both quirky and business-casual into one.
4) Sherpa jacket

Sherpa jacket …. you will never go out of style.
Rory is adorned here in a true Y2K outfit with the sherpa collard jacket and high-knee sneakers.
This is the perfect outfit for fall with this brown midi textured skirt and its cozy look.
5) Plaid skirts

An all-time favorite look of Rory from her Yale era.
Even though, it’s highly noted that this is before she had infamous downfall, she for sure had the best college wardrobe.
This skirt, paired with stockings and a turtleneck, screams fall and is the perfect outfit for those long study days at the library.
6) Multi-colors and patterns

One of the lesser-known looks from the show, but still simple yet cute.
This sweater, although it has too many patterns and colors, is still stylish and perfect for those cold autumn days.
This outfit captures the essence of Gilmore Girls of making those cold winter still look fashionable by experimenting with color palettes and embracing patterns.
8) 90s throwback

Definitely more of a ’90s look, this purple top is an essential for a fancy event where you want to keep it low-key but want to look like you put in the effort at the same time!
Even though this outfit is a bit more underated considering it’s shown in the theme song, it’s still one of my favorite looks.
Perfectly styled with the cutest up-do hair style, this look is definitely one for the books.
9) Pink trench coat!

PINK COAT!! One of my all-time personal favorite looks of Lorelai!
This coat is perfect for all the pink and cottage core lovers out there.
It’s cute and shows the true nature of Lorelai Gilmore: eccentric and fashionable.
10) Rory Gilmore sweater dress

At last, the most iconic outfit from Gilmore Girls, which everyone wishes they could recreate at least once.
This sweater dress paired with Doc Martens screams fall and is the perfect outfit for when you’re sitting in class, or grabbing a coffee.
An outfit that pretty much evokes Gilmore Girls and sweater weather.
Ultimately, Gilmore Girls will forever be the quintessential Fall show. Not only that we able to see the essential wardrobe must-haves from both Lorelai and Rory. From leather jackets to oversized sweaters, the character’s uniqueness shines through their fashion. We have the best of both worlds with Lorelai’s quirky yet business-casual ensembles for those busy work days and date nights. With Rory having a soft-academia meets girl next door aesthetic with her plaid skirts and cable-knit sweaters.
Now it’s that time of year again, our annual Gilmore Girls binge-watch! Perfect excuse to channel some of our favorite outfits from the show, whether you’re on a quick coffee run or gearing up for an all-nighter!
