The Ticketmaster war is over. Some were victorious, while others were not. For those of you lucky enough to win Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide Ticketmaster war, what will you be wearing to the concert? And for those who weren’t so lucky (like me), maybe you’ll find inspiration for next time.

Dressing up for concerts is always fun, especially when there is a theme. While there is no official theme for The Great Divide concert, a lot of people are going for a bug look, specifically referencing the lyric “the last of the bugs” from “The View Between Villages.”

How far are they taking their costumes? Some might fully lean in by dressing up in a bee costume or something related. But there is always the option to keep things simple. You could wear a little headband with antennas. Or you could wear a normal outfit in the bugs’ color scheme. Craving more inspo? Well, look no further than TikTok, Pinterest, and other forms of social media.

Where to start looking for inspiration?

We can certainly use social media to find outfit inspiration, but there are millions of posts and only one of you. So how do you narrow it down? For starters, you need to decide how extreme you’re willing to be. Are you looking to go full bug mode and wear a bug costume, or do you want something subtle?

Once you figure that out, you can start scrolling through social media for inspiration. This is my favorite part, because there are so many creative people on each app. No matter your aesthetic, you’re sure to find someone who matches your vibes.

As soon as you find the perfect outfit inspiration, you can go shopping for pieces to bring it to life. Of course, in my opinion, thrifting is the way to go. It’s affordable, and you may just stumble across a hidden gem that’ll make your outfit stand out.

Le’t’s dive into the apps!

What does Pinterest have to offer?

When it comes to outfit inspo, Pinterest is a great place to start. It’s positively brimming with ideas, so you’re sure to find something up your alley. The possibilities are endless!

I feel that Pinterest is the best source of inspiration when it comes to outfits. Unlike in TikTok videos, the clothes aren’t shown for 0.2 seconds, giving you time to actually process what you’re looking at.

You can also find nail and hair inspiration on Pinterest, which will take your look to the next level. Here are a few highlights!

First up: a ladybug!

This first outfit is a cute little number inspired by a ladybug. The red shirt pairs well with the darkwash jean skirt, and the shoes add an extra layer of whimsy. While you don’t have to replicate the hairstyle, it does reflect the theme!

Feel free to switch things out based on your personal style. Remember, this is only an inspiration photo; it doesn’t have to be exact. For example, I would swap the jean skirt for wide-leg jeans in the same color. I would also swap the clogs for boots. Make the outfit your own!

Another factor to consider is the weather. The concert will take place during the summer, so you might want to consider backup options. You could wear shorts instead, or if it’s a cooler evening, you could throw on a cute sweater to complete the look.

A tour outfit inspired by a mantis

Next up, we have a mantis-inspired look. This fit is earthy and neutral, giving it more of a springy vibe. You have two options for bottoms: skirt or pants. Or you can go with the secret third option, which would be shorts. I’d go for the pants, but I’d stick with a lightweight material.

As for the top, both options encapsulate the earthy vibes. They also fit the vibes of the concert. And so do the Birkenstocks! If you don’t own Birkenstocks, any similar-looking sandal will do the trick. Noah Kahan’s music has an authentic, down-to-earth sound, so an earthy-toned look is ideal!

It’s also critical to think about your location. Depending on where you are, you might want to add another layer that goes with the fit. Let’s say you went with the first option of the brown top and green skirt. You could thrift a lightweight cardigan that will both keep you warm and elevate your outfit.

This one is perfect if you need inspiration for a group!

If you’re attending with a group, you could all dress up as a different bug, allowing you to keep your creativity and individuality while still forming a cohesive unit. Or you could take the matching route and wear different colors and versions of the same outfit, kind of like the inspo picture.

This inspo is definitely a fun one. I mean, who doesn’t love dressing up with their friends? Now, if you really want to go all out, you can buy an inflatable bug costume. You might get hot, and it may be difficult to move around, but you’re guaranteed to be the life of the party!

Pinterest has such a variety of outfits to choose from. You can add your own flair and individuality to make the outfit feel more you, or you can recreate the outfit exactly as you see it! At the end of the day, all that matters is that you feel comfortable and confident!

What about TikTok?

I did just bash TikTok when comparing it to Pinterest. However, TikTok is still a good resource for concert options.

A lot of TikToks include multiple outfit ideas in one video. I will say, while that does give you more options, it can feel overwhelming. I know I personally get stressed when I have seemingly infinite options. But picking out the perfect concert outfit is worth the stress!

Next we’ll look at two different types of outfits seen on TikTok. The first is the more serious “I’m kind of on theme but still want to look cute” vibe. They’re simple, but you’ll still have fun putting the pieces together. The second encompasses sillier outfits that are completely on theme. I’m talking blowup bee costumes or something similar. Nothing wrong with having a bit of fun!

These “I’m on theme but still look cute” outfit inspirations are adorable!

This first TikTok showcases a number of different outfits. They all fit the decription of being in theme but not too in theme. Some are relatively similar to the Pinterest outfits above, but they’re still unique enough to deserve their own recognition.

I love the subtle little nods to specific bugs or characters. This grants you creative freedom when it comes to assembling the outfit. You can use different shirts and pants, and experiment with accessories. Not to mention, you can go to your nearest thrift store and find unique pieces that’ll give you additional options

Lastly, these outfits can be recycled for another concert with a theme, or they can even be worn as everyday clothes! And again, take advantage of the thrift store hack to secure an adorable outfit for an affordable price.

Yes, I am literally dressed as a bug

Our final round of inspiration takes the form of silly but creative costumes that will turn heads! One option here is to emulate a chill vibe and wear a bug onesie, as displayed in the video. The only problem is that you’re probably going to melt in the summer weather.

The second option is to go big. Bug costume, bug makeup, bug everything. You could wear an inflatable bug costume, a Halloween costume, or your very own handmade bug attire. If you go with this option, you will definitely convey your commitment to the theme!

The secret third option that we haven’t discussed is completely ignoring the bug theme altogether. You could base your outfit on another lyric or song that you love. For example, I saw a TikTok of a person who dressed as a carton of orange juice to represent the song of the same name. Similarly, you could dress up as a light bulb to represent the song “Porch Light.” The possibilities are endless.

Are you inspired yet? If none of these outfits tickles your fancy, no worries. There are myriad other social media apps with outfits for you to look through. Or you can craft your own outfit with pieces you already have. No matter what you wear, your enjoyment is the most important part. So if you were lucky enough to snag concert tickets, have fun singing and dancing with your fellow bugs!
