As November has come to a close, I thought it would be fun to review my top five (out of many) favorite purchases of the month!

I do a lot of shopping, and last month was no exception. As November has come to a close, I thought it would be fun to review my top five (out of many) favorite purchases of the month!

Clothes and beauty

1. Summer Fridays Lip Butter lip balms

I love lip products of all kinds: balms, stains, lipsticks, glosses– everything. I saw these specific lip balms numerous times on Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok, and since I didn’t need any more lip products, I held out on purchasing them for a while.

It wasn’t until one of my new favorite Tiktokers (Paloma, aka @whor3chata_ on Tiktok) posted about them (and called them “Verano Viernes”) that I was officially on board. I bought a gift set from Sephora that had four mini versions of the lip balms. I had seen them quite a bit, and when I saw I could get four minis for the price of one regular one, I thought it was a pretty good deal and a great way to try them out for the first time.

I’m always a sucker for a good lip balm. This time was no exception. The formula is great, and I love the colors. I do wish the colors stayed longer, though.

2. Colorful Tights

As a girl, I HATED tights. I remember being so upset whenever my mom would make me wear them because I thought they were only for old people–and not in a cute way.

Now that I’m in my twenties, I finally understand. I am no longer opposed to wearing tights. They can even elevate a simple outfit. I especially love to wear colorful tights. I used to wear my pink ballet tights for outfits, but admittedly, it wasn’t as cute as other tights.

Recently, I got pair of red and olive green tights, which are so cute! Even sweater tights are great as the temperatures decrease. I love the added touch of pizazz that the tights can give to an outfit!

3. Kindle Paperwhite

I got this on a whim after being a certified hater since the Kindle release back in 2012 when I was in elementary school. I saw a series of TikToks and began to do some research, weighed the pros and cons, and eventually picked one up from my local target.

My reasoning for getting the Kindle was that I have NO space left on my bookshelf, so a digital library would be a great way to save space. Also, the convenience of it was super enticing.

So far, I like it a lot! Of course, I had to decorate it because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t. I ordered the first “dark academia” aesthetic sticker pack that caught my eye on Amazon as well as a clear case and a popsocket.

Miscellaneous

4. Stanley Adventure to go Thermos

This was an impulse purchase. I bought my Stanley thermos because, unfortunately, I was too late to get my hands on a limited edition/holiday Glossier thermos.

Also, I refuse to buy one through resale for ten times the original price. I found the type of thermos at my local Kroger (a grocery store where I live). It is a lovely sage-ish green and silver. I’ve never had one with a cup/lid like that one, but it’s cute and fun and keeps my tea steaming hot overnight (which I found out by accident)! The only downside to the cup is that it isn’t dishwasher safe and only about 25 ounces max.

For an avid tea drinker like me, it wasn’t quite big enough. Otherwise, it’s cute, doesn’t leak, and keeps liquids hot. It was a good buy, but as a cup connoisseur, it wasn’t anything special compared to similar items on the market.

5. Pottery tools

It seems as if I’ve had an influx of media with pottery in it somehow. One of my favorite YouTubers (Ava Jules) started mentioning pottery in her vlogs, and I guess that was all it took for me to be on board. I’ve always loved pottery, but the studios near me are not near at all, so I’ve never been to an actual class.

I bought some air-dry clay, a sculpture platform, and a pottery tool kit from Amazon. I’ve just been hand-building random little cups and such. It is messy, as expected, but so much fun! I made a bunch of little cups (as mentioned before) and incense holders.

A warning, though: air dry clay is not food safe, so making mugs or any other dishes/eatery is not advised. If you want to make things you can eat off of or get wet (i.e., vases), make sure you have the right clay and call around to any local studios; they might be able to fire your projects!

Couldn’t agree more! I love a good pop of color from tights in the winter! One of the many reasons why I love fall/winter fashion!!
