Colorado has been THE state for legalization. From being one of the firsts for recreational marijuana to even magic mushrooms. They’re really on top of this drug wave! However, it also seems to be having some $$ profits as well.
We can all agree that people have been fans of these activities and why shouldn’t they! It makes A LOT safer for individuals to get it without having any suspicions of its origins, reducing crimes, and making bank for the government.
It was recently announced that $1.02 billion was accumulated from recreational marijuana tax in Colorado since the legislation in 2014 and over $6.56 billion sales have been made to date.
There are over 2000 licensed marijuana dispensaries in the state and about 41,000 licensed individuals working in the industry. Governor Jared Polis also had a few words regarding the benefits of the marijuana industry.
He said, “this industry is helping grow our economy by creating jobs and generating valuable revenue that is going towards preventing youth consumption, protecting public health and safety and investing in public school construction”. So glad that the money’s going towards good causes!
