We all have a dinosaur phase. Remember the names, the odd little facts about the size of their teeth, how fast they can run, the list goes on. Typically parents might just get us a book of dinosaur facts maybe a T-Rex toy or a Triceratops. Not this dad.
Mathew Cosman went above and beyond the typical response and constructed a giant dinosaur-themed playground for his children. The Jurassic structure measured 48 ft in length and 12 ft in height! The dinosaur featured is the Apatosaurus.
The structure includes a slide, climbing wall, various netting and balconies, and much more. A gift his kids will surely enjoy a ton as shelter in place continues on.
Cosman Credits his background in aerospace engineering as being particularly useful in this project. When describing his creation he claimed that it is composed of 24,000 lbs of concrete and also includes a good amount of steel and aluminum. This project was so massive that he needed a crane to lift it in to place right in his own backyard.
In his interview, he claims to have done this whole thing just for fun as a passion project for his kids. There’s even a timelapse video showing the entire process!
After this, all I can do is wonder what his kids will cook up for him this coming Father’s Day.
