Has anyone got a small loan of $58 million I could borrow? No? Damn, looks like I’m not going to the Space Station for my next holiday.
I mean, why take photos on one beach when you can take a photo of all of the beaches on one side of the Earth?
You heard me right, NASA is making the International Space Station into a tourist hotspot. Despite efforts to have the first woman and next man land on the moon, NASA is also attempting to send the average millionaire up into space. They are also going to open up labs on the space station for commercial opportunities.
Moreover, it could be less than a year before the first people are sent up into space. Those are going to be some epic photos for the ‘gram, I’m not going to lie. However, it is going to be ridiculously expensive, estimated at $35,000 per person, per day. Anyone lucky to go will spend 30 days in orbit at an altitude of 400 kilometres.
Would You Like The Chance To Go Into Space?
NASA are suggesting that there will be two opportunities per year for people to go to the Space Station. The commercial opportunities are available to those who want to study things such as micro gravity or the economy of the Earth’s orbit. I think if this was my field, this would be something I would be jumping for. Also, this will be an opportunity for NASA to make back a bit of money that the International Space Station has been known to take up.
Donald Trump has voiced his opinion on NASA’s efforts to send further astronauts to the moon. Although we are sure that if he could have his name associated with the Space Station becoming a tourist trade, he would be all for it. Always money over education, right?
With everything we are hearing about climate change right now, I think we’re going to have to look at living on the Space Station, let alone just going for a holiday.
