The long-standing debate about whether pineapple belongs on pizza is a puzzle that will never be solved. However, a new creation from a Danish restaurant has united both pineapple lovers and haters as they question the place of kiwi fruit on pizza.

A visitor to the restaurant, bewildered by what he saw, quickly posted a picture of the kiwi topped pizza to twitter stating he has ‘witnessed hell’.

The comments came flooding in from confused pizza lovers who couldn’t quite believe their eyes.

One replied: ‘This is so terrifying I can’t even type now. It’s worse than I thought.’

Another called it an ‘abomination’.

Another blamed this new creation on the frequent use of pineapple as a topping stating, ‘I’ve been saying for years… Pineapple was just a gateway topping. Now look where we are…’

However, there were a few brave souls who said they wouldn’t knock it until they had tried it.

One user said, “I actually see this working with the right other ingredients. Kiwi has a similar flavour profile as pineapple.

While another replied, “Sorry, but looks possibly awesome. That’s the beauty of pizza; it’s both nature’s most perfect food and comes in endless varieties.”

This is not the only unconventional pizza creation we have seen come out of Scandinavia. Several restaurants in Sweden serve the Pizza Afrikana which includes toppings such as banana, mushrooms, peanuts and curry powder.

Another Swedish creation is the Pizza a la Duck which is topped with duck, mushrooms, blackcurrants and honey.

Would you be brave enough to try these wacky creations?
