A Vietnamese Brewery has named two craft beers after islands as an act of patriotism to irritate Beijing, China.
In 1988, Vietnam and China had clashed over claiming Spratly and Paracel Islands. Vietnam though, calls the South and East China sea as Truong Sa and Hoang Sa.
Seefahrer Premium Beer has decided to enter this clash with their Hoang Sa golden ale and Truong Sa Trappist ale craft beers. The brewery is located in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the Hoang Sa bottle label, a warrior sailing is featured to be sailing under orders of the Nguyen Dynasty in the 17th century. In the Vietnamese Language’s old script, an official dispatch can be seen as well.
On the Truong Sa bottle label, shows a Vietnamese Navy sailor and a marker announcing Vietnam’s sovereignty over the archipelago. These two bottles are supposed to be extremely patriotic.
Moreover, Vietnam customers to the brewery are not wasting any time. They are putting their taste buds to the test! And, the craft beer is selling quickly and in bundles too. It is why Seefahrer is planning to export Hoang Sa and Truong Sa internationally.
The Seefahrer manager claims that he usually offers a 15 percent discount on the beer but people are buying it at full price. This is because Vietnamese people love their country. Craft beer has never been a part of a fight that has gone on for years either except for now.
At the moment, supplies are low due to high demand. While you make your way to buying these craft beers, buy these to give back to the community.
