A party marked by 500-800 people took place near 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at a site known as ‘The Hill’ to University of Colorado Boulder students.
In spite of COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, a plethora of students took it upon themselves to throw, what appears to be, a Project X-type of party that soon turned violent.
As police arrived to shut down the party, they were welcomed with animosity, having bricks and rocks thrown at them. According to the police, some were left with minor injuries.
In a video released by 9NEWS, swarms of students chase police cars down the street, and at one point, officers physically have to run.
Police claim they eventually found it necessary to turn to tear gas, which they say, did the trick in dispersing the crowd.
Nobody was arrested, however, officers are relying on “trashy snapchats and body cameras” to link them to those responsible.
