A pair of British YouTubers projected the words “Boris Johnson is a wet wipe” onto the Houses of Parliament.
Zac Alsop and Jamie Rawsthorne pulled off this prank for their YouTube channel, The Zac and Jay Show. They have 77,000 subscribers as of today, rising from 72,000 on Monday
Announcing their work on Twitter, Rawsthorne wrote, “You’re welcome, British public.”
His accomplice added, “Boris is a wet wipe pass it on.”
They posted a video of their mischief shortly after, which currently boasts 213K views, with 33K likes.
One person joked: “Sorry, but a wet wipe is useful.”
Another said: “Wet wipe evokes a sense of being overly cautious, hyper-sensitive & lacking in gumption.”
“This is a totally inadequate description of Johnson.”
A third said: “All the people crying over the ‘Boris Johnson is a wet wipe’ projection need to get a grip, if he doesn’t like it he shouldn’t be such a massive wet wipe.”
Some, however, took issue with the prank. One such person wrote: “Isn’t this immature and illegal?”
They then added: “It is illegal the last I check [sic] you cannot shine a large amount of light onto a building especially government property and the fact I’m pretty sure wet wipe is an insult here that also would come down under another legislation if I’m correct it’s called artificial light nuisance.”
Another user countered, however, writing, “Applying/enforcing it on a property that is mostly empty is probably not what it was written for.”
