An Instagram account dedicated to posting photos of celebrities posing with sexual abuse accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell is making pop culture fans gasp left and right.
Maxwell is a British socialite and former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, the millionaire financier turned convicted sex offender that died in prison last year (under suspicious circumstances). According to Epstein, Maxwell was his “best friend” for years, even after their romantic relationship ended.
The pair frequently joined their rich and famous peers at high-society events, meaning their social circle included powerful politicians, wealthy business leaders, and Hollywood’s best and brightest. However, when they weren’t rubbing elbows with the elite, Epstein and Maxwell were grooming and sexually abusing underage girls as young as fourteen.
Following the release of a Netflix documentary detailing Epstein’s career of sexual abuse, along with Maxwell’s arrest, the public’s interest in Maxwell spiked considerably. For the past month, photographs of the socialite posing with celebrities have been surfacing online at a shocking rate, making her crimes that much more disturbing—these stars either had no idea who they were dealing with, or knew quite well and let it slide.
