The life of the most famous killer in American history, just got a little more interesting.

Ted Bundy — a man who needs no introduction (not for the reasons anybody wants) — has been in the media lately. Mainly for the Netflix series recounting his story, and the release of the movie based around Bundy starring Zac Efron. However, an unknown part of Bundy’s life has also been revealed to the public recently.

In the writings of Bundy’s ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, she reveals a secret that Bundy had kept from her at the beginning of their relationship. The killer explained that he is an illegitimate child. He was born to an unwed mother, and was later adopted by Johnnie Bundy after he and his mother got married.

Bundy hadn’t realized this fact about his past until his teenage years. This didn’t seem to settle well with him. By no means am I excusing what Bundy chose to do with his life, but perhaps this provides a little reasoning to it.

Bundy is perhaps the most famous killer in American history. A lot of people like him seem to have some sort of event from their past that acts as a snowball effect to their future. Perhaps this is partly the reason Bundy ended up the way he did. I don’t know why this would be the reason. All we can do at this point is speculate I suppose.

Any sort of insight we can get into the minds of these killers seems to make headlines. There’s nothing we can do about it at this point. Well … I guess they’ll probably just make more documentaries about it.
