The end of 2022 has given us a lot of highly anticipated Netflix shows, like Emily in Paris season 3 and the second season of Alice in Borderland. But more shows under the radar are going to be released. One of them is the new spy thriller Treason.
Charlie Cox plays the role of Adam Lawrence in Treason. He is an MI6 agent whose life and career appear to be on the right track. That is until he came across his past because of a Russian spy named Kara (Olga Kurylenko). Suddenly, Adam gets trapped in a tangled web between Kara and his wife, Maddy.
Looking at the success of Netflix’s spy thriller The Recruit, we can safely say that Treason could be another end-of-the-year dark horse. Marvel fans are surely excited to see more of Charlie Cox, and though he’s not playing a superhero, it’s the next best thing.
Netflix has already declared Treason to be a limited series. So it’s highly unlikely that Treason season 2 will happen. The first season consists of five episodes, which will be its complete run as a miniseries. Netflix generally sticks to its limited series decisions.
Inventing Anna, Echoes, and Devil in Ohio have been three successful Netflix limited series in 2022. These weren’t renewed for a second season. Unless Treason becomes incredibly popular and ends up as an anthology series, these five episodes will be all for this series.
Those looking for more spy thriller series on Netflix after finishing Treason can check out The Recruit. It stars Noah Centineo in the role of a young CIA lawyer. Other recommended titles are Traitors, Inside Man, The Lincoln Lawyer, Secret City, and Lupin.
