Season 3 of Surviving R. Kelly is set to premiere today. The real invents-inspired series has garnered quite the interest of viewers.
In this documentary series, young women emerge from the shadows and join forces to confront singer R. Kelly. Hailed as one of her all-time best R&B singers, her R. Kelly career has been plagued by rumours of abuse, paedophilia, and predatory behaviour against women. Now the survivor is stepping forward to detail new allegations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
Abuse quietly. Details of Mr Henry, a person’s “local uncle,” and brother’s allegations that R. Kelly was a close cousin who was sexually assaulted between the ages of eight and fourteen or fifteen can be found in season two. Henry promised to pay his mother $5,000.
Part II deals directly with the turmoil that erupted when a special screening of Surviving R. Kelly was cancelled in late December 2018 after some survivors witnessed gun threats. “That’s when I realized there was something important about this movie, and someone was trying to make sure it never got to be seen,” recalls the sometimes distressed Kitty Jones.
The show will premiere its first and second episodes on January 2, 2023, and the third and fourth episodes of Surviving R Kelly on January 3, 2023. The docuseries will air on Lifetime in the USA at 9:00 PM.
The show will be available to stream on Netflix, Hoopla and the Lifetime app.
