Everyone’s favourite crime-catching, podcast-hosting neighbours are back! As expected, they’re caught up in even more investigative scenarios, only this time they’ll also be in the firing line.

Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin reprise their roles as the infamous trio aiming to uncover mysterious circumstances within their apartment block, and you really haven’t got long to wait until we see them again. Due to land on Hulu in the US (and Disney+ in many other countries) on Tuesday 28th June, you have just over a week to wait before all of their antics are once again revealed.

As teased in the trailer, the three crime-hunters find themselves involved in three scandals, none of which will be helping their public personas. Following on from the cliffhanger of season one’s finale, we find Mabel, Charles and Oliver caught up in Bunny’s homicide case as they desperately try to prove their innocence, whilst also hunting down the true culprit. The fan-favourite titular podcast, Only Murders In The Building, is facing new opposition against a rival show, and to top it all off they seem to be every New Yorkers’ least favourite bunch.

Alongside the usual familiar faces from the show, the trailer also offers an insight into new characters, with several well-known celebs joining the cast. Tina Fey is set to reprise her role as a fellow, yet highly unfriendly, podcast hoster, and will have her character feature more centre-stage this season, similarly to Cara Delevingne, who stars as new character Alice (Mabel’s love interest) but is expected to be a large part within this storyline.

After Bunny’s departure in the finale of the previous series, Shirley MacLaine is set to avenge her death as she debuts as the deceased’s mother. And last but not least for the new kids on the block, Amy Schumer will be following in Sting’s ironic footsteps, playing a characterised version of her real-life self in the newest season. Maybe she’ll be a victim of murderous accusations like Sting too… only time will tell.

Despite season 2 being scheduled to premiere at the end of the month, fans are already speculating about whether we’ll receive a third season or not. One commenter stated “I am so unbelievably excited. I’m so happy this got a 2nd season and it better get a 3rd!” with Selena Gomez herself sharing her plan for the next year or so. Speaking with The Holywood Reporter, she explained “I finish season 2, I did my cooking show, now I’m going to be in the studio until season 3. Basically, we’re going to be working on new music.” So is a season 3 on the cards? We’ll just have to wait and see!

After it received a whopping 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, there’s no surprise that there’s a hunger for another slice of justice pie, so let’s hope the newest season delivers another showstopper.
